Warranty VS Guarantee
Installing a new air conditioner, furnace, and other similar equipment is not like a trip to the grocery store. There’s a larger significant financial investment required and with that, the investor (aka homeowner), usually wants some sort of assurance that their investment is going to be well spent.
You’ve probably heard from multiple companies and even found little pieces of paper inside packaging talking about warranties and guarantees. But what are they really? Is a guarantee the same as a warranty?
Not exactly. While both offer some peace of mind, they are not identical. Our friends over at HVAC.com explain more specifically the difference between warranty and guarantee.
We thought it would be great for us to clarify what warranty and guarantee we offer at Air Systems with the furnaces and air conditioners we install. While we service all makes and models, we only install Amana brand furnaces and air conditioners.
Furnace
- Installed (by a professional): 10 years on parts, 1 year on labor
- Equipment Registration: warranty extended to 10 years parts, 10 years labor, limited lifetime unit replacement if heat exchanger fails
As part of our service to you, we complete all equipment registration for you and provide documentation so you don’t have to worry about it.
Air Conditioner
- Installed by a Professional: 5 years on parts, 1 year on labor
- Online Registration: warranty extended to 10 years parts, 1-year labor, limited lifetime unit replacement if the compressor fails
As part of our service to you, we complete all equipment registration for you and provide documentation so you don’t have to worry about it.
Most manufacturers require you to register new equipment within 60 days of the installation. We’ve listed all the major manufacturers’ equipment registration pages here.
All of our air conditioners and furnaces come with a one-year membership to our Signature Club. This membership will get your new equipment started off on the right foot by ensuring that annual maintenance is being completed, something that all manufacturers require if you ever need to take advantage of the warranty they offer.
In addition to that, there are a whole bunch of other perks available to you, the homeowner. Click the image on the right to see all the perks of being a member.
We believe that guarantees and warranties are important for anyone making a big investment in new equipment.
