Let’s Clear The Air Up
/in Indoor Air Quality /by Ryan BilelloAt some point, you’ve probably had to go down into your basement and change the filter for your furnace. And most likely it’s probably been more than a month since the last time you did this, which is the max life expectancy for a typical one-inch (thick) filter. Read more
Smart Thermostat: Home Comfort on Demand (Updated)
/in Uncategorized /by Ryan BilelloThis was originally posted on December 8th. It has been updated to included more details on the ecobee thermostat we recommend to all homeowners.
There are times throughout the year when you’re traveling, visiting family and friends, and celebrating the holidays in your home. In the midst of decorating the tree and baking cookies (hint: we love Christmas cookies) sometimes we forget to make sure the furnace is ready to handle the weather.

The cruise control we’re used to seeing in our cars has been around for over 60 years. It’s a handy little feature that’s great for long drives on the freeway. Pick a speed that is ideal for you and your car will maintain that speed. Rain or shine. Up hill or down. There’s even a resume button we can press if we have to disengage the cruise control for some reason.
Cruise control is more than just a luxury. It improves your car’s fuel efficiency and saves you money.
And we all like saving money.
Did you know that furnaces have cruise control too? Read more
Why Mom Was Right About Going to the Doctor
/in Heating and Air Conditioning /by Ryan BilelloWhen I was a little kid my mom would routinely take me to see the doctor for my yearly checkup. No matter what had happened over the past 365 days I knew that I’d have to go in, let some doctor stick his light in my nose and ears and make me say ahhhhh.
As a teenager I began to wonder why I needed to see a doctor when I hadn’t been sick nor sustained any big injuries in the past year. What a waste of money I would think to myself. Hey, at least mom and dad’s insurance was paying for it, right?
